महेंद्र शर्मा वर्तमान में राजस्थान राज्य पथ परिवहन निगम के बारां डिपो में परिचालक के पद पर कार्यरत हैं।
महेंद्र शर्मा के पदक जीतने पर संपूर्ण बारां जिले के साथ राजस्थान के खेलप्रेमियों में हर्ष का माहोल है।
इनके गांव शाहपुरा व सीसवाली के लोग रोडवेज डिपो बारां के सहकर्मियों में में खुशी की लहर दौड़ गई पदक की खबर सुन उनके परिजन व मित्रगण एक दूसरे का मुंह मीठा करवाकर खुशियां मना रहे है।
