हर बार कुछ नया करने वाले फ़िल्म निर्माता संजय लीला भंसाली अपनी पहली वेब सीरीज़ “ हीरामंडी” को लेकर सुर्ख़ियों में है जो हाल ही मैं नेटफ़्लिक्स पर रिलीज़ हुई है । देवदास, हम दिल दे चुके सनम , रासलीला ,पद्मावत , गंगुबाई जैसी कई हिट फ़िल्में देने वाले भंसाली ने एक बार फिर अपनी पटकथा के ज़रिए लोगो का ध्यान खींचा है ।
बिना किसी बड़े चेहरे के भंसाली फ़िल्म को चर्चित बनाने में तो काफ़ी कामयाब रहे है लेकिन कितना कामयाब होते है ये देखना अभी बाक़ी है ।
हीरामंडी की पृष्ठभूमि में लाहौर शहर की एक ऐसी जगह को केंद्र बिंदु बनाया गया है जहां तवाइफ़ो की ज़िंदगी और नवाबों की अय्याशियों को बारीकी से दिखाया गया है । कहानी आज़ादी से पहले की है । भंसाली ने फ़िल्म की कहानी में एक विषय पर फोकस ना करके कई चीजे दिखानी की कोशिश की है । प्रथम दृष्टया तो ऐसा लगता है जैसे गंगू बाई काठियावाड़ी की तरह भंसाली ने यहाँ भी केवल तवाइफ़ो की ज़िंदगी को दिखाने की कोशिश की है लेकिन कहानी उससे कहीं आगे जाती है और देखते ही देखते जंग ए आज़ादी का दृश्य फ़िल्म के विषय को विस्तृत कर देता है । आधुनिक दौर में संभवतया ये पहला अवसर होगा जब किसी फ़िल्म निर्माता ने आज़ादी की लड़ाई में वर्तमान हिंदुस्तान को छोड़कर लाहौर के योगदान को अपना केंद्रबिंदु बनाया ।
फ़िल्म इंडस्ट्री में अलग थलग पड़े किरदारों को समेटकर भंसाली ने अनूठा प्रयोग किया है । मनीषा कोइराला (मल्लिकाजान) इस सीरीज का केंद्रबिंदु है जो हीरामंडी के शाही महल की हुज़ूर (मालिक) होती है और इनका मुक़ाबला सोनाक्षी सिन्हा (फ़रीदन) से होता है । जहां हीरामंडी में ज़्यादातर तवाइफ़े अपने वर्चस्व के लिए संघर्षरत रहती है वही दूसरी और कुछ तवाइफ़े शुरुआत से जंग ए आज़ादी के मूवमेंट में शामिल रहती है ।
फ़िल्म में मल्लीकाजान की बेटी आलमजेब (शरमीन सहगल) और बलोच नवाब ताज़दार (ताहा शाह ) की प्रेम कहानी को अच्छा स्पेस दिया गया है । आलमज़ेब भले ही फ़िल्म की मुख्य नायिका है लेकिन फ़िल्म के अंत तक उनका कोई ख़ास मक़सद नहीं दिखाया गया है वो सिर्फ़ शायरी सुनाती हुई नज़र आती है ।

जबकि दमदार रोल की बात की जाये तो बिब्बोजान (अदिति राव हैदरी) सबसे आगे नज़र आती है । शेखर सुमन, अध्ययन सुमन और फ़रदीन ख़ान फ़िल्म में खेत बिजूका से ज़्यादा कुछ नहीं है । मुझे तो आठ में से सातवें एपिसोड में आकर पता चलता है कि नवाब वली मोहम्मद साहब का किरदार फ़रदीन ख़ान जैसे अभिनेता कर रहे है जो काफ़ी अरसे से फ़िल्म इंडस्ट्री से ग़ायब है। फ़िल्म की कहानी मुख्य रूप से हीरामंडी की तवाइफ़ो पर फ़िल्माई गई है जो आपसी संघर्ष से जूझती हुई ,देश की मुख्य धारा की लड़ाई में आ जाती है ।
फ़िल्म में ऋचा चड्डा , जैसन शाह का काम भी शानदार है लेकिन इंद्रेश मलिक के उस्ताद जी वाले किरदार को लोग हमेशा याद रखेंगे । फ़िल्म के आख़िरी हिस्से में जंग ए आज़ादी की लड़ाई वाले दृश्य , दर्शकों को रोमांचित कर देते है ।

फ़िल्म की ख़ामियो की बात करें तो वो भी कम नहीं है । शुरुआत में थोड़ी बोरियत सी महसूस होती है । किरदार इतने है कि समझ में नहीं आता कि फ़िल्म का मक़सद क्या है इसके अलावा कई किरदारों के डबल रोल तो दर्शकों के दिमाग़ का दही कर देते है । भंसाली की इस फ़िल्म में लाहौर की संस्कृति को शुद्ध रूप से दिखाने की कोशिश की है जिसमें काफ़ी ज़्यादा उर्दू का इस्तेमाल किया गया है जिसके चलते ग़ैर उर्दू दर्शकों की थोड़ी परेशानी उठानी पड़ सकती है । फ़िल्म में अंग्रेजों के जमाने के नवाबों की ज़िंदगी को बड़े दिलचस्प तरीक़े से दिखाया गया है ।यह वेब सीरीज सांप्रदायिक सौहार्द की भी शानदार मिसाल पेश करती है जिसमें सभी धर्मों के लोग मिलकर जंग ए आज़ादी की लड़ाई लड़ रहे होते है । इस लड़ाई के नेतृत्व कर्ता क्रांतिकारी अब्दुल हमीद (अनुज शर्मा) और ताज़दार को बनाया गया है लेकिन पूरे आंदोलन में बिब्बोजान (अदिति राव हैदरी) का रोल दर्शकों को प्रभावित करता है ।
फ़िल्म हीरामंडी को अच्छे से समझने के लिए यहाँ दर्शकों को तवाइफ़ो और वेश्याओं में फ़र्क़ मालूम होना चाहिए वरना आधी कहानी सर के ऊपर से जायेगी ।
